Dr. Sheila Rege                           Dr. Richard Giever

Dear Radiation Oncology Patient:

We, the physicians of Oncology Group PLLC, provide radiation oncology physician coverage for the Tri-Cities Cancer Center, Kadlec Medical Center, Kennewick General Hospital and Lourdes Health Network. We are Board certified in radiation oncology and are independent from the Cancer Center. You will receive your “doctor bill” from us, as a separate bill from your Cancer Center treatment billing.

We would like to tell you a little about ourselves. Dr. Giever completed medical school at the University of Washington (Go Huskies!) and did his radiation oncology training at the University of Wisconsin and the University of Arizona. Dr. Richard Giever, along with his wife Kate and three children, has enjoyed living and practicing in the Tri-Cities since 1982. Dr. Sheila Rege completed undergraduate work at Cal Berkeley and medical school and residency training at UCLA (Go Bruins!). She is trained in both radiation oncology and nuclear medicine, and remains on the clinical faculty at UCLA and University of Washington. Dr. Rege and her husband Kees have enjoyed living here since 1997.

We recognize that visiting a cancer physician may be a difficult experience, but rest assured we will work hard and do our best for you. You will meet one or both of us – Dr. Giever or Dr. Rege. Both of us have been honored as Fellows of the American College of Radiation Oncology. Please understand we work together as a team on your care.

We specialize in
treating cancers with radiation. With that in mind, we encourage you to continue seeing your regular physicians for routine medical problems such as flu symptoms, high blood pressure, etc. If you do not have a primary care physician, let us know and we will help you find one appropriate for you.

We like to meet with you each Monday to discuss any side effects you may be having from your radiation treatments. Therefore, be prepared to spend more time at the Cancer Center on Mondays. We will discuss how the treatment is working and answer your questions. We encourage you to bring your family members with you as “an extra pair of ears.”

Please do not hesitate to call (509) 374-3915 for questions relating to Oncology Group services. We will bill your insurance directly, making it important for you to tell us if your insurance changes. Let us know if you have questions or concerns.

We appreciate you entrusting us with your care and we look forward to getting to know you.

Sincerely yours,

Richard J. Giever, M.D. Sheila Rege M.D.
