Below are some common billing questions that can arise while undergoing radiation treatment at the Tri-Cities Cancer Center. We hope these will help you to understand the financial side of your treatment. Our staff is always available to assist you with any of your questions.
Q. I have questions about my billing, who can I contact?

A. Please contact our Patient Finance Department at (509) 737-3415 with any billing questions you may have. For questions regarding a bill from the Oncology Group, PLLC (Dr. Rege and Dr. Giever), you can contact their billing person directly at (509) 374-3915.
Q. Will the Tri-Cities Cancer Center bill my insurance(s)?
A. The Cancer Center will submit a claim to your primary and secondary insurance. If you have a cancer specific policy, we will also supply you with an itemized billing so that you can submit to this plan.
Q. Does the Tri-Cities Cancer Center bill for Dr. Rege and Dr. Giever?
A. No. The physicians bill separately from the Tri-Cities Cancer Center. The doctors will submit billings to your primary and secondary insurance under the name “Oncology Group, PLLC.” The physicians bill your insurance for professional components, while the Tri-Cities Cancer Center bills for the technical components.
Q. Does the Tri-Cities Cancer Center handle the billing for Columbia Basin Hematology and Oncology?
A. No. Columbia Basin Hematology and Oncology, PLLC, is a separate practice that resides within the Tri-Cities Cancer Center. If you have billing questions please contact their office directly at (509) 783-0144.
Q. How much will my radiation treatment cost?
A. Each patient is unique in how his or her radiation treatment will proceed. We realize the concerns you might have due to costs. We encourage you to meet with our patient finance representative so that you can discuss these costs. We can offer assistance regarding different programs to help you with these expenses. Charges depend on diagnosis, site, stage and length of treatment. For an estimate, contact Patient Finance at (509) 737-3415. Additional costs for physicians and other providers will be incurred.
Q. Even with insurance, I am left with a high patient balance. Does the Tri-Cities Cancer Center offer any financial assistance programs?
A. The Cancer Center has an uncompensated care program for patients based on financial need. Contact our patient finance representative at (509) 737-3437. This uncompensated care program is made possible due to the support of our community who generously donate to our Foundation.
Q. I am receiving numerous separate billings for services and I don’t recognize the names of these providers. Can you explain the billings and who they are from?
A. While undergoing treatment at the Tri-Cities Cancer Center you will receive separate billings for services. You may receive billings from some of these providers listed below:
- Tri-Cities Cancer Center- for radiation treatments, (509) 737-3415
- Oncology Group, PLLC- for the physicians’ services related to radiation therapy (Dr. Sheila Rege and Dr. Richard Giever), (509) 374-3915
- Columbia Basin Hematology and Oncology, PLLC- for chemotherapy services, (509) 783-0144
- Columbia Basin Imaging or Tri-City Radiology- for radiologist
- Tri-Cities Laboratory and pathology services
Q. Is the Tri-Cities Cancer Center contracted with my insurance carrier?
A. The Tri-Cities Cancer Center is contracted with the following insurance carriers and PPO networks: • Aetna • Asuris • Cigna • First Choice PPO Network • Group Health • Healthcare Direct • Medicare • Multiplan • ODS Health Plan • One Health Plan of Washington • Premera Blue Cross Plans • Railroad Medicare • Regence of Washington and Oregeon • United Healthcare • UPREHS • Washington & Oregon Welfare. For all other carriers please contact the patient finance specialist at (509) 737-3415.
Please remember that you will receive separate bills from the radiation oncology and medical oncology doctors. They may or may not be contracted with the same insurance companies as the Tri-Cities Cancer Center.
If you have questions regarding your benefits or if you are unsure of your PPO network, please contact your insurance provider for verification. Also, if you have a referral based insurance plan, be sure to consult with your primary care doctor to obtain any referrals.
